CWNC Scholarship Application
The Connected Women of North Carolina (CWNC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization for professional women and leaders. We are a network of 4500-plus participants from technology, science, business, healthcare, and other professions throughout North Carolina. CWNC strives to nurture, enlighten, and inform its members. Our goal is to empower women to network and succeed.
The Connected Women of North Carolina (CWNC) scholarship program is open to women in the North Carolina Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and surrounding area). Scholarship are available for educational/technical courses offered at our local partner accredited learning institutes. To ensure we have all the information needed, please complete this application in full. (Please do not fill it out if the institution requires their own application.)
The CWNC Scholarship Committee will review your application and respond within 10 business days, to confirm that the information has been received. CWNC ensures all information provided herein will be kept in the strictest confidence.
The CWNC Scholarship Committee will review all applications and notify the winning recipient(s) in December. Winning recipients will be informed of the dollar amount of the scholarship when they are notified of their award. All scholarship funds will be solely applicable for the learning institute(s) in partnership with CWNC, for specific courses and other fees. Scholarship recipients may also be awarded a 1-year CWNC student membership as part of the scholarship annual program.
Cisco ICND 2 On-Line Subscription including Labs: Resources provided directly to the student.
- Must be an active CWNC member
- 2 or more years of Technical or Networking experience or education
- Knowledge of networking technologies
- Ability to multi-task, self-start, work independently or in a team environment
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to diagnose technical problems
- Ability to attend monthly study group sessions
ECPI and Wake Technical Community College: Scholarships are provided to the Institution and will be awarded by the school on behalf of CWNC.

How do I apply?
When is the deadline for application submission?
We review applications throughout the year, and will award scholarships no later than December of each calendar year.
What types of classes or programs qualify?
Any class or professional certification which promotes professional development or educational support.
Will you cover my PMP certification or Jr. College courses?
As CWNC continues to build our Scholarship fund, we will look into expanding our program to include additional courses.
Is there an application fee?
Yes, the application fee is $10. These fees go directly to the Scholarship Fund, to enable us to award future scholarships to women in the Triangle NC area.
What are the criteria for applicants?
Criteria is based on the following and will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee:
· School attendance
· Community involvement
· Load you are carrying (school, work, home, etc.)
· Written essay
Does CWNC award scholarships to help defray the costs for textbooks, test fees, and other classroom fees?
Yes, this can be incorporated into the scholarship, depending on need and available funds, to be determined by the Scholarship committee
Who selects the scholarship recipient?
The Scholarship Committee selects the recipient and reserves the right to make this choice based on the above factors.
What is the amount awarded for scholarships?
This depends on need, as well as available CWNC funds, and is determined by Scholarship Committee.
How many recipients per year received CWNC Scholarships?
CWNC strives to award as many scholarships as possible, as part of our overall mission. The number and amount of scholarships will depend on available funds.
