CWNC Scholarship Program
Scholarships will be awarded based on need, merit and other factors (see individuals application for specific criteria), and based on funds available to CWNC. CWNC is a non-profit organization, with funds accrued through membership fees, event fees, and donations. A portion of CWNC’s funds will go toward awarding scholarships to women in the NC Triangle area.
On a regular basis (typically bi-annually in the Spring and Fall), the Scholarship Board will meet to discuss potential candidates for scholarships, as well as available funds.
The Committee reviews scholarship applicants, available funds, determine amounts and decide on final recipient, with the help of our partner learning institutions.
Once decisions are final the funds are made available from CWNC to the institution for the Scholarship and in turn awarded to the scholarship recipient.
Some factors considered when awarding scholarships:
Scholarship applicants/recipients are encouraged to join CWNC and will be eligible for the Student membership ($50) rate for a 12-month term. If they do not have the funds for the 12-month CWNC membership, the Scholarship Committee will consider sponsoring this fee on behalf of the recipient.
Funds from the Scholarship may be used by the recipient based on the discretion of the learning institute, for tuition, text books, test fees, and other student expenses.
Applications for the CWNC - Carolina Career College Scholarship for $5000 are now being accepted thru December 1st.
Criteria for consideration are:
Scholarships are for CWNC committee member/volunteer member and provides partial coverage for UNC Kenan-Flagler Rizzo Center Executive programs.
